This London Fog Latte is filled with warming notes of sweet vanilla, a hint of cinnamon, and that classic earl grey flavor.

A London Fog Latte is a tea latte made with earl grey tea, milk of your choice ( I use coconut milk), vanilla extract, and sweetener. I like to use 100% maple syrup as it’s an unrefined sugar and better for you.

Earl grey is a gorgeous aromatic black tea — my personal favorite! A good quality earl grey is not bitter, and has a smooth, bold flavor with notes of bergamot.

It’s easy to make a London Fog Latte right in your mug…no extra equipment or dirty dishes required! However, if you’d like to get a little fancy and froth the milk, you can use a frothing wand or frothing pitcher to do so.

Tips

Don’t over-steep! – Steeping the earl grey tea bag too long will cause your London Fog to have a dry, bitter taste. I have found that 5-7 minutes in this latte is usually perfect, but you can steep longer if you prefer. Just take a taste test every so often so you don’t over-steep!

Froth if you like! – For convenience, I usually don’t froth the milk whenever I make a London Fog Latte. But you can use a frothing wand or electric frothing pitcher to create a creamier London Fog Latte if you like!

Add Cinnamon or Cardamon – I usually add either a dash of cinnamon or cardamom to the top of my London Fog latte for an extra bit of flavor. Cardamom is a very cozy flavor for me because it reminds me of the Scandinavian Christmas Baking my mom and I do every year. 🙂 (Recipes like Norwegian Krumkaker, Scandinavian Almond Skillet Cake, and Swedish Pepparkakor!)

Make a Collagen London Fog – If you are a collagen peptides lover, add a scoop of unflavored collagen to this tea latte for a delicious protein boost.

Ingredients

*I have based the measurements on a mug that holds 2 cups of liquid. If your mug is smaller, just decrease the liquid and maple syrup by a little bit.

How to Make a London Fog Latte

Start by boiling your water either in an electric kettle or on the stovetop.

Next, heat your milk in the microwave, on the stove, or in a frothing pitcher (cold milk straight from the fridge also works if you don’t feel like warming it up).

Fill half of your mug with hot water and the other half with the milk. Add in the maple syrup and vanilla extract. Stir.

Add the earl grey tea bag and let steep in the water/milk mixture for 5-7 minutes. You can taste to see if you like strength of the flavor at this steep time or if you want to let it steep longer. Just don’t let it get bitter!

Remove the tea bag. Stir your London Fog Latte. Top with a dash of cinnamon or cardamom, and add unflavored collagen peptides if you like.

Cozy up, and enjoy this classic tea latte. Perfect for a rainy day!
