Oven Roasted Broccoli

Roasting broccoli in the oven with olive oil and sea salt crisps the edges of the florets and gives the broccoli a delicious roasted flavor.

Equipment

  • baking dish or sheet

Ingredients

  • 4 c broccoli florets
  • hearty drizzle extra virgin olive oil
  • 1-2 pinches sea salt to taste (or approx 1/16 tsp)
  • 1-2 dashes white pepper or black pepper to taste (or approx 1/16th tsp)

Optional Flavor Adds

  • 1-2 cloves minced garlic add in before roasting
  • 1-2 pinches red pepper flakes add in before roasting
  • squeeze fresh lemon juice add in AFTER roasting

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Cut up your fresh broccoli into bite-sized florets. Rinse them, and pat dry with a paper towel.
  • Place the florets in a baking dish or on a baking sheet. Drizzle them with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper (white pepper or black pepper). Mix together well. (Add in any flavor add-ins at this time).
  • Roast in the oven for 20-25 minutes until the edges of the broccoli florets begin to brown and crisp.
  • Serve as a side dish or even as a snack all on its own. Enjoy!
